With the luck of a coin flip on March 19th 1969, the Milwaukee Bucks won the rights to draft UCLA star Lew Alcindor.
This package of a game program and photos is from his rookie year, in the 1969/70 NBA season.
In those early years, all the programs had the specific game day information printed on the front cover. This program is from the game on January 14th 1970 against the Los Angeles Lakers. The program is not scored. Players featured in the center-piece photos are Mr. Clutch, Jerry West of the Lakers and Flynn "The Electric Eye" Robinson of the Bucks. The ticket stub form the game is included, but was stapled to the front front and first page of the program.
The most unique part of this package are 5 original black and white photos of the team, taken by a local photgrapher. Taken at the Arena, photos include most all the players and coach Larry Costello. A true Bucks fan will be able to name and recall everyone pictured.
Enjoy the current line up led by Giannis, but it is always good to remember the roots & history of the team. (35K0177)
