1969-72 Ed Spiezio Inaugural Season San Diego Padres H&B Louisville Slugger Professional Model Game Used Bat (MEARS A8)

In 1969 the San Diego Padres went from a Pacific Coast League affiliate to full-fledged big league baseball team. Ed Spiezio was part of that inaugural San Diego Padres team. The outfielder and third baseman used this Hillerich & Bradsby bat between 1969 and 1972. The signature model (P72, appears on knob) weighs 30.5 ounces and measures 34 1/2 inches in length. The ash stick features a standard regular knob and round barrel.

The item exhibits heavy use. It has deeply embedded stitch marks, cleat marks, an 8" handle crack and 2 mounting holes. Spiezio's number 7 appears on the knob of the professional grade bat.

Grade MEARS A8: 5 base points assigned for bat matching factory records, 3 points assigned for heavy/optimal game use, 1 for documented number 7 on knob, -1 for mounting holes. F0170
