1969-72 Chicago Bears Game Worn Sideline Cape (MEARS Auction LOA)

Those wintery and windy conditions in Chicago have to be combated on a yearly basis. When November, December and January roll around, sideline capes are required attire.

This size "L" Bears nylon jacket (Wilson tag labeling period of 1969-72) survived the elements. Sewn in the collar is a Wilson size label. An unknown substance is visible on front. Two repairs are also captured on front. Our guess is someone got a little too close to the heaters.

No player number or name is indicated. "CHICAGO" is sewn on back in two-color tackle twill formation.
