1961 Ernie Banks Chicago Cubs Signed H&B Louisville Slugger Game Used Bat (Career HR 278 noted on bat) MEARS LOA / JSA

Offered is a professional model S2 Ernie Banks H&B Louisville Slugger dating to circa his 1961 season with a black marker signature on the barrel from Ernie along with a "# HR 278 6/4/61" inscription with review of Banks HR Log confirming he hit career HR #278 on that date. Homerun in unverified and MEARS is offering the bat as being inscribed only without being able to independently verify the inscription. Bat currently measures 35", weighs 31.5 ounces and shows heavy use with ball marks, stitch marks, deadwood on the reverse of the barrel with separation, a chipped knob, a cracked handle. Model, length and weight verifed via H&B shipping records. Some black tape remnants added after use by Banks (07G0117)
