Offered is a Philadelphia Athletics road jersey dating to Lee Wheat's 1954 season with the team, their final season in Philadelphia before moving west to Kansas City. MacGregor size 46 & "Wheat" tags sewn in collar with set 2 1954 & Pearson Sporting Goods tags sewn inside the tail while Athletics and number 40 are also embroidered to the grey flannel jersey over red felt backing. Accompanying are the matching uniform pants which feature MacGregor size 38, set 2 1954, Pearson Sporting Goods and "Wheat" tags sewn to the waistband at various points. Light wear shown to jersey with some staining while pants show heavier wear with staining and a repaired fabric tear. (88Q0478)
