1952-54 New York Giants Game Worn Cap Signed by Willie Mays (MEARS LOA)

Offered is a game worn New York Giants cap dating to circa 1952-54. Tim McAuliffe tag sewn to sweatband which is also stamped with the size, though it is not entirely discernible given the cracking to the leather. Interior crown features an early signature from Willie Mays, though JSA ruled the autograph as inconclusive due to heavy fading, with "Mays" handwritten on the interior crown behind the leather sweatband. It also appears as though Willie's uniform number 24 is written on the underside of the brim, but again we cannot be certain due to the heavy wear shown which includes tearing to the brim, cracking to the sweatband and a blown seam on the reverse of the cap.
