Hall of Famer Ted Williams did his best work with a bat in his hands. The Red Sox legend and baseball great tallied an unheard of .344 career average en route to two MVP awards and a well-deserved reputation as one of baseball's greatest pure hitters. And at some point between the 1950 and 1955 seasons, Teddy Ballgame stepped to the plate holding this bat.

The label period of this Hillerich & Bradsby bat spans from 1950-60. The signature model (W166, on knob) bat was used by Williams in the regular season of the above-mentioned campaigns. It weighs 29.8 ounces and is 35" in length. The ash bat features a standard knob and a round barrel style. Provenance is provided by a letter of authenticity from a family member of a Red Sox vendor. The bat shows medium use with heavy ball marks, surface stitch marks, rack marks and some swelling.

Final Grade (MEARS A9): 5 points assigned for bat matching factory records, 2 points assigned for medium game use, 2 points for provenance.
