Offered is a Boston Red Sox home jersey dating to Lou Finney's 1942 season with the team. Spalding, Tim McAuliffe and size 44 tags sewn in collar along with an embroidered "L. Finney" swatch while "Red Sox" and a Health patch are also sewn to the cream flannel jersey. No number on back, though the outline of Finney's removed uniform number 8 is visible. While many players served in WWII during this time frame, Finney would miss the following 1943 season and the first months of the 1944 season to grow food on his Alabama farm, an activity deemed essential to the war effort.
