Hall of Famer Bill Terry is pictured here during his 1937 managing the baseballing men of the New York Giants. Measures 6.5" x 8.5". "Bill Terry" handwritten on reverse with affixed cutline and International News Photo & Dec 22 1937 stamps. Armband worn for club owner Charles Stoneham, who died during 1936. The original Boston Herald was founded in 1846 by a group of Boston printers jointly under the name of John A. French & Company. The paper was published as a single two-sided sheet, selling for one cent. This is an original photo, in many cases a Type 1 printed at the time of the event. File copies or type 2 photos are also found, and can be distinguished by the markings on the reverse.
