Offered is a signature contract pre model number side written game bat that is 36”- 38.9 oz with significant game use, cleat marks, surface marks and swelling with 10 vintage bat boy nails in the dead wood and an 8” handle crack. The side writing appears to be 7-30-39 Wes Sp___?. This date means the bat was in service for at least 8 seasons before being returned by another player. O’Doul was an outstanding star in both the major leagues but even more so in the PCL. He came up with the Yankees in 1922 (Yankees second World Series) moving to the Red Sox in 1923, Salt Lake City PCL 1924-25, Hollywood Stars 1926, San Francisco Seals 1927, New York Giants 1928, Phil. Phillies 1929-30, Brooklyn Dodgers 1931-33, 1933 Giants (WS year) & 1934, then finished the next 9 seasons 1935-46 back in San Francisco with the Seals. A member of the first ever All Star game, he led the league in batting in 1929. From 24-27 (PCL) , he batted between .338-.392. A super star in every league. Grades an A6 having lost one point for nails and another because it was returned by an un-identified player.
