1909 Ty Cobb Detroit Tigers Charles Conlon Original 11" x 14" Photo Hand Developed from Glass Plate Negative & Published (The Sporting News Hologram/MEARS Photo LOA)

Here, in what is quite possibly Conlon's most famous image, we see Ty Cobb sliding into third base on a successful stolen base attempt as New York's Jimmy Austin tries to make the tag. It may appear slightly different here as the right half of the image historically has been cropped out.

Hand selected for inclusion in the book "Baseball's Golden Age: The Photographs of Charles M. Conlon, 1993" each of these offered images were developed from the original glass plate negative. Classified as a Type 2 by professional grading services, each image presents the finest in color, subject, and contrast. Near mint condition. Sporting News Hologram. (H0973)
