Offered is a Topeka Hawks road jersey originally issued circa their 1956 season as the Milwaukee Braves Western League affiliate. Spalding & size 46 tags sewn to tail with a Set 1 1956 flag tag sewn inside tail while "Topeka", number 25 & an American Amateur Baseball Congress patch are also sewn to the grey flannel jersey. Rounding out the uniform are the matching Spalding size 34 Set 1 1956 pants with "Bates", "Botz" & what appears to be "Condy" written in the waistband. Heavy wear with some staining/discoloration & team repairs. Jersey sourced from a member of the Topeka Board of Directors who said it was subsequently worn circa 1959-60 by manager Johnny Vander Meer when the club was a Cincinnati affiliate. (35K0045)
