On Sept 20, 1992 the Green Bay Packers hosted the Cincinnati Bengals. It was the 3rd game of the season. During the game, starting Quarterback Don Majkowski was injured, to be forever replaced by Brett Favre. It was a shaky appearance for Favre, as he fumbled 4 times. Yet, first year Coach Mike Holmgren, stayed with Favre to the finish. With the Packers losing 23-17, and only 1 minute 7 seconds remaining, the final series started from their own 8 yard line. The game winning drive ended with a 35 yard touchdown pass to Kitrick Taylor with only 8 seconds remaining. With Majkowski injured, Favre started the next week against the Steelers. The start against the Steelers on Sept 27, 1992 was the beginning of Favre's record setting streak of consecutive starts. This game program is in excellent/near-mint condition. Clean, crisp. No folds or creases, no writing or marks. The program is filled with great photos of some very young coaches, just starting in the league and in their first year with the Packers. The staff included Jon Gruden, Steve Mariucci, and Andy Reid. Each program that year included a full page photo/mini-poster of a different player. How ironic that Brett Favre is the featured Packer on this sheet. (32H0214)
