The Simpsons' first season originally aired on the Fox network between December 17, 1989 and May 13, 1990, beginning with the Christmas special "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". Phil Oritz was the animator on the first few inaugural episodes, meaning that the first time fans laid eyes on the Simpson’s family; it was his work you saw. Phil Ortiz is an essential part of the Simpson’s history.
Phil Ortiz also worked for Hanna Barbera and Ruby Spears Productions on such cartoons such as Godzilla, Richie Rich, Hong Kong Phoey, Dukes of Hazzard, The Fonz, Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and the Flintstones.
On September 23rd, 2017, the professional staff of MEARS met with Phil Ortiz at the Madison Wizard World Comic Con for a private signing. Phil Ortiz signed this limited edition blue pencil, ink, with color background full color high gloss archival paper stock print in near mint blue sharpie marker.
Print has been authenticated by the professional staff of JSA autograph authenticators and their official company hologram and matching certificate of authenticity card accompanying this piece. Their unique hologram number is maintained at the JSA website which validates the items authenticity.
