1980s Chicago Cubs "No Lights in Wrigley Field" 14"x 19" Sign. August 9, 1988, the lights were turned on in Wrigley Field, which had been the only major league park where night games were not played. Prior to the addition of night games, neighbors feared that these games would attract a rowdy crowd, threaten their peace and safety and cause damage to property. Citizens United for Baseball in Sunshine were adamant about "keeping lights out of Wrigley."
