Taken from an original file negative, this image depicts a young Bob Feller with manager Ossie Vitt. Feller is dressed in his road grey uniform and the 1939 Baseball Centennial patch is clearly visible. Under the watchful eye of manager Ossie Vitt, the manager, with hand on shoulder, points out a weakness in an opposing batter, the result of 25+ years’ experience gathered from his professional baseball career.
The mighty righty is gripping the baseball, and you can see the look of concentration on Feller’s face as he is listening to the wisdom of the skipper.
During the 1990s, MEARS conducted a private autograph signing with Bob Feller in Milwaukee, WI. A very limited number of these prints were signed, personally witnessed by MEARS President Troy R. Kinunen.
“Bob Feller” is signed in near mint blue sharpie. Great care was taken during the signing; with new markers being rotated after just a few autographs were signed, insuring only the highest quality signatures appeared on this remarkable print.
