Offered is a Baltimore Ravens helmet which was donned by fearsome linebacker Ray Lewis through the entirety of the 2000 postseason, including the team's victory in Super Bowl XXXV, and also for parts of the 1998 & 1999 seasons. Helmet is manufactured by Riddell with Ravens team logo decals applied to either side of the black dome while #52 & NFL Shield decals are applied to the reverse. Interior of the helmet is stamped with a "3 98" date code while a 2000 Gunther recertification sticker is also applied. Lewis has also signed the helmet in silver marker with PSA/DNA hologram/COA P44355 attending to verify the authenticity of the signature.
When comparing the helmet to available photos, the helmets compared quite favorably to 2000 regular season games, and the 4 following playoff games including the Super Bowl. Images can be verified via the accompanying DVD that is included with this lot. Very significant helmet worn by Ray Lewis during the 2000 season where he was Defensive Player of the Year and the Super Bowl MVP.
Additional COA from California Sports Investments will also attend as will email print outs of correspondence between the consignor, Riddell, the Ravens & a Ravens collector/expert plus a DVD with full broadcasts of all four Ravens postseason games leading up to and including their Super Bowl XXXV victory. Although MEARS does not grade helmet, if we did, this would be a perfect MEARS A10. (73A0527)
