Offered is a Rawlings PRO1-HF first base mitt dating to the close of Hall of Fame slugger Mike Schmidt's tenure with the Philadelphia Phillies circa 1986-89. KER01 date code factory stamped on exterior thumb indicating glove was manufactured circa August 1985 while "Mad Dog" is written in black marker on the exterior webbing. "Mad Dog" refers to Garry Maddux, Mike Schmidt's teammate during the era. After being worn by Schmidt, Maddux tried it out and added his name. Schmidt gifted the glove to Mad Dog during that time frame. Maddux gave the glove to his son, who then gave the souvenir to our consignor. Our consignor played minor league baseball with Maddux's son in the New York League. Schmidt has also signed the glove, though the autograph has faded some. Heavy use. (39O0428)
