James Lofton gave the Green Bay Packers a deep threat during his years in Green Bay. Although the cupboard wasn't always stocked with talent to go along with Lofton's graceful skill, the Hall of Fame came calling for Lofton.
Lofton was an Pro Bowl selection seven times during his remarkable Titletown career. He reached into the fountain of youth following his Green Bay ouster and starred with the Bills Super Bowl teams of the early '90s.
Circa 1983-84 is this game used helmet of the Packer wideout. The helmet, originally sourced from the Packers team supplier, shows decent overall use with deep gouges and a few scratches from use. The Packer decals are dark forest green. "80" is dymo labeled on the back in black color. A warning label sticker has been removed.
The facemask on front matches those worn by Lofton during his career. One of the plastic facemask clips has broken. Inside features include: "7 3/8" size sticker, a white warning label and 1983 recertification sticker. "11 81" are embossed on the inner crown which means it was ready for use in 1982 and beyond.
Lofton signed the back and dated the penning to "1984".
Overall, a Canton worthy relic honoring one of the finest wide receivers to ever line up for the Green Bay Packers.
Employed by the Green Bay Packers from 1984-2000, Scott Waters had on field access for each game, and mingled along the sidelines with the players. Several candid photos document his presence on the field. This lot originated directly from the Scott Waters collection. Detailed LOA’s personally signed by Scott Waters will be included with each item from his collection. Letters of authenticity: Scott Waters & MEARS / Troy Kinunen
