Offered is a Houston Astros road jersey which was worn by Jim Bouton during his 1969 & 1970 campaigns with the club. No manufacturer tag present, though a swatch sewn in the collar reads "46 44 69" indicating the size, uniform number and year of issue. "Houston" is sewn across the chest of the jersey in orange on black double tackle twill while number 56 is sewn to the reverse in black felt over orange twill. A franchise logo patch is also present on the left sleeve. Bouton originally wore number 44 with the Astros, though he switched to his standard number 56 part way through the 1969 season. The team logo patch was also moved from the right sleeve (where it resided in 1969) to the left sleeve in 1970 to replace the MLB 100th anniversary patch which was formerly present in that location. The front restoration is consistent with the 1971 style. Heavy use shown. (62P0318)
