Yankees pitcher Tommy Byrne, who is perhaps best known for being on the wrong side of a rally started by shoe polish, is pictured in this black and white 8" x 10" photograph. Bryre -- who hit Milwaukee's Nippy Jones in the foot (as a shoe polish mark on the ball proved) to incite a Braves rally in Game 4 of the 1957 World Series -- signed the photo in blue marker with the added inscription "threw the pitch in the Nippy Jones shoe-polish incident" and the date 10/6/57.

MINT condition. JSA auction letter included. 00949
