Offered is a check dated May 25, 1925 for $1296.60 payable to Earl B. Combs to be drawn against the account held by the American League Baseball Club of New York at the Yorkville Bank. Check has been signed on the front by New York Yankees executives Jacob Ruppert & Ed Barrow while Combs has signed the reverse along with a handwritten notation reading "pay to the order of Southern National Bank Richmond, Kentucky by" plus a pair of bank stamps and a typed notation reading "Salary for May 1326.60 Less uniform deposit 30.00".
