Offered is a check dated August 31, 1922 for $1149.72 payable to Franklin Baker to be drawn against the account held by the American League Baseball Club of New York at the Yorkville Bank. Check has been signed on the front by New York Yankees executive Jacob Ruppert while a J. Franklin Baker signature is present on the reverse along with a pair of bank stamps and a typed notation reading "Salary to Aug. 31st 1149.72". (04F0230)
