Offered for sale is a very rare United States Army Mexican War tunic for an Army major I believe. The shoulder boards are present but are not affixed to the uniform at this time. The tunic was professionally restored to a certain point by the owner a number of years ago. Some of the buttons on the tunic have been replaced at one time or another. The tunic has correct eagle I infantry buttons. One of the stars on the tail of the uniform doesn’t exactly match the other so I am guessing one of those was replaced at some point in history. This tunic dates to a war that original items are often hardly ever seen so don’t miss this chance to own one. There is mothing and tracking at various points on the uniform. It is so rare that I feel that this wouldn’t affect the value of this piece at all. This piece is worthy of a museum or a high end collection. In thirty years of collecting and dealing this is the first original I have ever seen let alone had a chance to actually touch. This is a chance for you to own a true piece of history here so don’t miss the chance!
